Stoker GIF Trailer - Case Study

To help promote the film Stoker, I created an experimental film site called Letters to India that featurred key scenes from the film looping as animated GIFs.

The site was well received by executives at Fox and the press, so my team was asked to come back to the studio to create more GIF ideas that could help grow additional buzz.

After a series of stakeholder meetings with studio executives, we decided to create the first ever theatrical film trailer using GIFs. We based this decission on the strength of social conversations surrounding the film site and the growing popularity of the use of GIFs with our target viewer.

The idea was a success! The trailer went viral, garnering support from mainstream press like Mashable.

In addition to getting love from research publications like PSFK.

And in the end, it won our team several awards!
